ordering sharks

i am having a tank made. i ordered a 300 gallon tank however we had some problems. the tank was just too tall and not enough surface area.
what would you guys recommend if i wanted to keep a shark. i can go as long as 144x24x24 do you think that would be big enough?
and are they really hard to maintain and take care of? what are my chances of survival? and where do you buy them?

The shark tank is only for "shark" members of this form. The moderators I think.
I think ***********.com had a decent selction of sharks, upkeep though I am ignorant about.

ask risc, in aggressive set ups, he is a sharker, and has plenty of experience with sharks
but i would think tha t depending on the species, you may need more, and you may wisht ot post the intended species too
