OT: New computer. Advice?

Ok, just got an e-machine. 2.60 GHz. blah, blah, blah... Anywayz, it's alot faster than my 1997 hp from my first year in college. It's a T2602. Any computer people, please give me some info on these. Paid $260 for it. All I need it for is internet, writing papers, and using other simple programs. Thanx!

What info do you need? As far as I am concerned the more RAM the better and get a cable modem.

like Scotts said, definitely it will be fine, with more ram.
you want at least 512 with Windows XP, if you want to be happy. it will run much smoother and better with that much ram. 256 will work but not as well. And get broadband.

Make sure you protect your computer from intruders and spy ware. Download ApyBot Search and Destroy to periodically clean out the bad files in your computer. Also a good pop up blocker will help.
