OT: Ryebread, can you recommend a digital camera?

Ryebread - I love your photography, so I thought I'd ask your opinion of what digital camera I should get.
I think I've narrowed it down to between the Sony DSC-V1 and the Canon G5. I definitely want digital, so I can erase all the bad photo's I take.
I'm definitely an amateur photographer (but want to learn). Here is what I'd like the camera to be able to do:
(1) I'd like to be able to take low light/night shots...like Vegas nightlife, bonfires, the city's Christmas tree all lit up, and maybe shots of the moon (without using actual "night shot" that makes the photo look all green and useless).
(2) I'd like it to be portable for vacations, etc. This is why I stopped looking at the Sony DSC-F717 and the Canon 300D Digital Rebel...a bit too bulky.
(3) I'd like to be able to take some macro shots, like in the aquarium...not sure if I'd need a macro lens - or if the camera could even take a macro lens.
(4) I'd like it to have a decent zoom, maybe even get an additional telephoto lens
(5) and of course, I'd like it to work in all around situations, like birthday parties, as well as big landscape shots on vacation.
If anyone else has any input on these cameras, I'd be happy to hear that too.
Thanks in advance for any inputs you all may have!

Cannon G5. Love mine! I have the G3. I went kicking and screaming to a digital. I am a die hard 35mm. I have never regreted it. I will try to post some pics of the St. Louis July 4th fireworks. They turned out great. I will have to do it later as I have to finish some work here. (they actually expect me to work, crazy isn't it? :D )
If you take a bad pic, you can ditch it. Do a search on Melody.
She has some awesome macro pics with her Cannon. I think she has the G3 also.
Oh, I have also been in almost total darkeness outside at a party and have taken pictures of people. Great too.
:)
