My brother is going to Iraq in 2 weeks. We're going to have a Christmas for him before he goes... Here's my question. What do you get a guy going to Iraq for Christmas? I need ideas from you guys over there now, things you would like to get or need.
thanks
ps..ideas from people here too are welcome of course.

Not necessarily as a Christmas gift, but a few good recent pictures of family members or maybe a camera to take some.

international phone cards, to call home maybe. I know we can use them on board ship, don't know what they have there.

my cousin always needed phone cards. He was in Quatar at the time. (toliet paper too  ) Sunscreen, babywipes, disposable cameras. Do you know what accomodations he will have. (if you can call them that)
Maybe Therock will see this. He is up to his eyeballs in sun and sand and give you some ideas.
We will keep in in our thoughts.....thank him for us.

Phone cards, electric razor, cd player (walkman), camera, (he will see some stuff he won't believe), warm under garments it is freezing here at night. That is just a few luxury items that are nice to have. If he already has the walkman go with CD's or have everyone go in and get a portable dvd player that would be awesome about now I know that!!!! HTH
P.S. These are things besides toiletries like wipes, wipes, wipes, oh did I mention wipes and the other normal items.

Rock, LOL its the little things in life huh???
When we were first told about the wipes, I thought Kurt was joking. Never thought you would use those for things like that.
Probably will never look at one the same again.
:D
keep your head down!!:)
batteries too...

How about some lip balm, playing cards, stationary, bug spray, socks, undies, there are some type of cards that allow you to record a message, again.....phone cards........hmmmmmmmm....that's all I can think of for now

Not so much as before he leaves...but care packages throughout his tour is what really makes it great.

Thanks everyone - a few things. He has a laptop he's bringing for music and movies. He'll be on a C130 - flight engineer. He's been to Bosnia and a bunch of other places in his career - AF reserves, so I think he knows whats up with things - no surprises.
question on the shaver - electricity - is it normal - 110vac with the same kind of plugs we use in the US?
phone cards are excellent - as well as a card you can record your own voice and send..

This may sound funny, but I had heard that a lot of people were sending flea collars in their care packages. Seems that fleas an issue in the sand over there and they were putting them around their ankles to ward off unwanted hitchhikers - now I don't know this as a fact just something I had heard.
