i just became a notary public, and in florida a notary can preform a wedding ceremony. i had my first wedding ceremony last night! it was so cool, i just wanted to share the news. ;)

Pretty cool.... though kind of weird that a notary public can perform a wedding. Suppose its no different than just going to the courthouse though.

exactly, no difference and there are only 3 states in the US that allow notaries to do this. pretty cool!
ps it also makes it a little more personal than a cold court room :)

it is different in each state, but in fla you just have to attend a 4 hr seminar, i did mine online.
a notary is the person that stamps your title when you sell your car :D basically they are there just to verify it is the person signing the document is actually that person. in fla however you get the added bonus of being able to perform weddng ceremonies.
