i have a 90 dt and have always had trouble w micro bubbles. i rescaped yesterday and a friend asked why there was so much air in my return line.i thought it was normal. well i messed with the height of the overflo tube in the tank overflo and set it about 1 " below the top of the teeth. today i noticied no more air in the return line(1" clear line) then looked up in the tank overflo and noticed the overflo tube is under water including the very top which has the small hole it the very top. is this ok or am i lookin for trouble. it seems that all my bubble problems are over but am i going to have a flood bacause of it??thanx in advance....walt

Can you take any pictures of your setup and what you are talking about?
It sounds like you have durso overflows... those have the tiny top hole you are describing. That hole should be exposed to air to work properly.
I'm almost wondering if you have too much flow going into your tank and it is overwhelming hte overflows.
What kind of tank is it? What type of return pump do you have?

thanx for your reply. since i set the tank up a few months ago i've always had air coming down the return tube.it's clear 1"line. yesterday i did a little scaping and messed with the tube in the overflo to no avail. this morning i noticed the tank level was up a little higher and there was now no air in the return line . it is a durso pipe in a 90dt i poked at the air hole and found it to be clear . so i turned my little giant pump back a little and exposed the top hole and still no air in the return
i can't explain how the air got out of the line but i can tell you that all the problems i've had with micro bubbles are gone. i assumed the system was working the way it was suppose to. i was obviously very wrong.i have the pump oped all the way now and all systems are good.thanx again for your reply....walt
