Overflow box noise

I guess the title says it all, what are some of the ways to quiet the drain down?
I just have the flex pipe stuff hoked to the drains and no gate valves on them.

i cut a piece of cardboard to cover top of overflow box seems to work

I built a silence out of pvc for mine and I cannot hear it at all

If you hook a 90 degree elbow to the overflow then it will help with the gurglyness. I did that on mine and it is nearly silent.
