Overflow Siphon Question

The waterline in my overflow box, (the slotted box in the tank), is about 2 inches or so below the slots right after I pull the siphon with the air tube. Over about a weeks time that level creeps up closer to the slots and will eventually be the same level as the tank water. The siphon continues to work but there is a lot of air filling the space at the top of "U" tube. I have to put in the air line and pull all the air from the tube about once a week. Then the waterline drops again in the box.
Any idea why this does that? Could it just be air bubbles getting pulled into the tube and eventually filling up?
Thanks for the help:notsure:

When that happens on mine I take out the U-tube and clean it if there is anything in it. Also clean the slots in the box to make sure there isn't anything obstructing the flow and restart the siphon. Hope this helps.

I dunno...:notsure: but is the U tube in correctly? the longer part should be on the outside of the tank.
The air in the tube should go away with a couple good bumps on the top of the tube. Works for me.

Both ends of the siphon tube are the same length. I did clean it and started the siphon. The waterline is alot lower now than it was. The tube was pretty filthy, maybe it didn't like that so much!!
The assembly is made by Amiracle in case there is a history of problems out there with this manufacturer.

Cleaning it should help. If the flow through the tube is fast enough there shouldn't be a problem with air bubbles collecting.

I had the same problem with mine, i have 2 u tubes on my overflow box, and was always having 1 run out of air, i then went down to 1 tube then it ran fine, i just recently added a pump to the end of my wet dry filter that goes to a squb wave maker,i got the other tube running and it has no problem keeping up now. otherwise i've herd people saying to go to a smaller tube therefore the water is going through the tube faster and doesn't give it a chance to run out of air, i've never cleaned out the u tubes since then, let me know if i can further help.
