Overflow ?

I just made my own overflow box. I was wondering how far off the bottom does the siphon tube need to be?

bout 1/3 of the depth of the overflow.. then make the syphon from the "intank" side to the "out of" tank side about an inch below that.. Im assuming yuor talking about a hang on overflow.. ~DAniel

Did you include a baffel in the overflow so that the overflow tube will always be submerged thus not allowing it to break syphon if you sut off the return pump?

Yes, I added a baffle. I found some great DIY plans. I will post them when I have finished my DIY sump "project." Hopefully this weekend!!!
