Overloaded Hospital?

My 3 inch maroon clown got ick, so I set up a 10 gallon hospital and took all fish from the 50 and put them in the hospital. So that's the maroon clown, 3 little damsels, small huma trigger and small clown trigger. Question: Am I going to have more problems with them in the 10 gallon hospital tank treating them with copper than just removing the maroon to the hospital and leaving the other fish in the 50? Could I leave the others in the 50 and treat them with garlic and purchase a UV sterilizer? Please help me out.

Well, I have to say that I used the garlic treatment as suggested and it worked great. The most important thing was that I didn't have to stress out my singapore angel any more than he already was. Garlic is safe for inverts and fish love it. I used it for 3 days and all signs of ick are gone. I know that the little nasties are still in the tank but I will continue to feed the garlic until they die. I can say that it wouldn't hurt to try. I am suprised that your damsels and clowns have survived with the triggers. triggers are aggressive. I wouldn't leave them in your hospital tank together for sure. Such a close space could be aweful for the nonagressive guys. I hope you have some hidding places for them. Try the garlic. IMO it really works.

I agree. That is too small for all those fish.I had the same problem myself with ick and reef(lr). If I were you,I would take the maroon,if hes the one bad off,and put him in the hospital.Get ome greenex and use it with the garlic method.A lot of people have different thoughts on different treatments, but that is what I did.Minus the garlic. The greenex won't kill the ick,but it will control it so it don't get out of hand. Then you will hopefully be successful with the garlic.Someone I'm sure will tell you to try hyposalinity.I don't like it because of all the changes the fish go through.I know how hard it is to treat those darn ickies thats for sure, but patience is the key!!
