Oxidating agents vs. water clarifyers?

Having a myriad of different chemical additives available in the market for use in reef tanks can often become a confusing topic. Speaking in particular about oxidizers and clarifyers: when is either one indicated or contraindicated? How do they work? Will they help or hinder filters and skimmers? Are they safe? Will they be removed by filtering? Will they deplete nutrients? How often should they be used? Can you tell me about your particular experiences?

i would not use either, especially oxydizers, in an aquarium, the oxydizers can burn things as they oxydize, and clarifiers, IMO are not neede and i do not like to add any chmeicals to my tank, unless they are needed(which i never found i needed)

well. i have to admit, i am stumped, temporarily
i never even thought they could or would be used in aquariums, we used them in the spa industry and some in pools, so the only rela thing i know about them is their general uses
ozonators(or ozone generators) are used to purify the water and kill bacteria and other things in water, so i would not think i woudl want one in a marine aquarium, since there are many things in the water that you do want to keep, like bacteria(for denitrification) and zooplankton(especially if you have filter feeders or corals), they may help with parasites(but i am not sure) and they do add alot or o2 to the water which would probably help with gas exchange(thus helping with denitrification), but could also be a problem for your livestock
one thing i do know is that i would not consider their use since i have searched and found that they are quite expensive and they do kill many things in the water, including the things i want to keep, you will also have to be careful on how(and how fast) you introduce them into your system, otherwise you could also risk your fishes health
