Oxygen Question

I have a 55Gal with Cascade 700 canister and a Regent hang-on (don't know the model but it is the same size as an Emperor 400). I was worried about not having enough oxygen in the water. Should I get an air pump or two?
Thanks in advance!:D

I wouldn't get an air pump...they really don't do alot for adding usable "dissolved" oxygen to your tank and the salt creep from the bursting bubbles can be a real pain in the butt...
You didn't mention any, so I'll ask if you have any powerheads to circulate the water...
If you do great!! If you don't you should get some and point one (or more) toward the surface of the water...
Disturbing the surface of the water is what promotes 'gaseous exchange" and brings dissolved oxygen to the water...
That's actually the purpose of the air stones by the way..to disturb the surface...The "bubbles" you see really aren't adding any usable oxygen to the water...
This is also why a powerhead is more effective in oxygenating water...it disturbs a much greater area of the surface...

Yea, I forgot to add that I have a Maxi-jet 600 power head in there and was thinking about adding another. Water movenent is very good but was worried.
Thanks for the advise!
