oyster

got some live rock yesterday and have found 2 oysters on them. they look just like the oysters you eat no color at all....my question is i know there are abbrasive species of oysters anyone else ever get these and should they be removed. not sure i can get a pic they blend in real well and in the back of the tank.

Don't remove them, they are good filter feeders, and they don't get big.

Sure they are oysters and not turkey wing clams?

no i am not sure but they look just like oysters you eat....

just pulled up a pic of a turkey wing clam i do have a few of those on my rocks these are def. oysters pretty flat and odly shaped

...oyster or clam...both are harmless filter feeders, and are good for the tank.

cool i was just concerned here on the chesapeke bay we have some bad oysters so i was just curious....thanks

Drop some sand in them when they open. Maybe you'll get a pearl. LOL

What do the bad oysters do?
