Hi All, Can someone give me a specific white paint for the ******** of my canopy. It is made of oak wood and will house a complete hood . The paints needs to withstand some real heat. Thanks

One paint I like alot is appliance paint. It is used for recoating the metal on your kitchen stove. It works great on wood, and seems to water-proof pretty nicely. It also is made for high heat.

you can buy spray on engine paint from most auto parts stores.... here its about 8 bucks a can, more depending on the heat you plan to be running. the last can of paint i bought (chrome, perfect reflector) handled up to 800 degrees, and that wasnt the hottest i could get.
if using spray on paint, do several thin coats over a primer coat. you absolutely do not want a shoddy job that will eventually peel and flake into your tank. i would assume this is the same with any paint, not just spray.

Actucally, the way I did mine was a white appliance spray paint with about 3 coats. Then about 3 coats of clear engine paint. Works well so far and produces a nice look.
