Painting Back of Tank

I would like to paint the back of my tank, to eliminate salt creep between the glass and the backing. Do most people paint their tank backs, and what color seems to be the favorite? Also, does it matter what kind of paint I use?

I've used black spray paint from home depot and think it looks great.. 4 tanks-no complaints. IMO

I agree with the first comment, spray paint is the easiest. Though you understand that the fumes will be in the room for awhile. seal the tank while spraying. Most stick with Blue or Black.
