painting BB tank

I made the mistake of not painting underneath the tank before setting it up so I need some tips.
The system is already running so I can't take it off the stand or anything, is there a paint I can use to do this? I tried cardboard and ducktape but it kept falling off, then i put a trash bag under there but it is retarded looking, what do you suggest?

Do want to paint the bottom of the tank? Why?

Back of tank, I used latex semi gloss. Put it on with a small sponge roller. Had to move HOB equipement and paint one side, let dry then move and paint again. Took about 4 coats but worked.
Ps. outside only

because it is a BB tank and my eel freaks out because when there is nothing covering underneath there is no "ground" so he gets stressed, if i paint it then it will be like there is a ground.

Oops, sorry "BB"- got it.

Do you have access to the bottom?
How big of a tank are we talking. Could you drain some water out and tilt it to one side and paint, then of course tilt the other way. Latex paint dries fast enough that you could put a couple of coats on in a hour.
This will be tough, I would not use spray paint, fumes and overspray, not good.

i've seen black backgrounds that go on the glass like window tint. you spray soapy water on the glass, put the tint on, and then squeegee the water off and it sticks.

I actually just did this very thing. I have a 20g QT that I did a water change and while there was less water I just lifted one end of the aquarium and slid the black baground underneath and set the aquarium right back on top of it.

it's a 75g tank, I pretty much have full acess to the bottom of the tank so that will be no problem, I was told that acrylic paint would be the best thing to use

I have not used acrylic paint, but latex is very low fumes and dries fast. A pro and con of it is - comes off easy. If you wish to change the color or just remove it, then just start a corner and peel.
Clean up off roller is a breeze.
