Painting the Tank Back

Hi Everyone,
I am fixin' to paint the back of the tank this weekend and was looking for some opinions. I have decided on black but not sure weather to hand paint it on or spray it on. I am pretty sure to go with a flat sheen. What do you guy's think?

last month I used black spraypaint and it rocked. It looks great. Saved me the hassle of brushing it on too.

Some people like the look of a solid color as opposed to using the tape-on style of backgrounds.
Did you use the "search" function to read though old posts? I think I remember reading one in which someone suggested lightly sanding the back of the tank to prevent the paint from peeling later.
