pair fighting

My clown fish have been together for 3 months. I bought them together and they have been paired up ever since. now the slightly bigger one is attacking the other. i dont understand it. we did recently buy two new fish over the past month, so i am wondering if it is too much stress. do i need to get rid of one?

what size tank?? most likely they are just fighting, most clowns fight when they are a pair, or claiming dominence

its a 55 gallon. we also have a hippo tang, sweetlips, and heinocuous (spelling?). all the fish are small, but i know my tank is too small. we will be getting a bigger one by the end of the year. a friend of mine also suggested buying one of those plastic balls you can put in your tank. he said to put one of them in there, until the other one is big enough to hold her own....?
