Panther grouper Size Question

I got a 3 inch panther grouper a couple of weeks ago for my 55 gallon.
I just saw a thread from Puffer 24/7 ans he has a HUGE panther grouper in there. I know mine is going to outgrow my tank, but how long until he doubles his size?
Thanks!

He could easily double his size to 6 inches or larger in a few months.
I had one in a 125 for about a year. Was tiny about an inch when I got him.
Gave him away for free when he was about 10 inches.
They grow fast and usually lose the great pure black and white coloring they have as juviniles. And it can be tough to find someone to take them when they're big.

I've had mine for over a year now and he is still only about 7-8 inches long. I'm thinking they take some time to grow that large.

Mine got to about 10 inches in less than four months. He was four inches when I first got him. Depends on how often you feed him I suppose as well.

Once a day. I fed a variety of shrimp, krill, silver sides, and so forth.
He usually would eat two shrimp, or two silver sides each feeding. The krill he would munch down about 5 or six.
