Panther Grouper

Here is "Leo".... the Panther Grouper in our 225 gallon tank at work.
He loves to flirt!

Thanks! He's such an entertainer! He loves to watch and follow people. He's a little bully to other fish and the crabs and will try to "lean" on them and put his fins out to block them when they try to pass him.

how big is that grouper? i saw one about 10" long and it was MUCH uglier than this, and this one looks pretty big.

true... i have seen on several different ocations, panther groupers, that were an UGLY grayish color that were also 10+ inches in length. from what i understand they change color when they get bigger from a beautiful white to an ugly grayish color...

Actually, this one isn't all that big. He's about 5 inches. He's our 2nd panther grouper. We had another one in the tank that got pretty big and the guy maintaining our tank feared that it would start eating any fish smaller than him, so he was replaced. We were told that once they got a certain size, they would just change them out to a smaller one to keep it from eating any of the smaller fish.

We've fallen in love with this one though... soooo much personality!
