Parasite Worms?!? HELP

Got two lil Firefish the other day and did not see the little worm like things coming from each of their gills. See picture below:

could be a parasitic isopod or flatworm you should have them in quarantine

I agree. They both have the exact same thing? How are they doing aside from this? I would QT and begin a copper treatment using Cupramine.

I did an "emergency" surgury on one of them. He is acting normal, eating playing in the current, etc. I am planning on taking the other one back to the LFS this week with some questions. Aside from the "tubes" coming from their gills, they are normal and very acitve...

They are both in QT right now. I can't believe I didn't see it when I purchased them!
