Usually orange linkia are difficult to keep. I lost my first one due to an immature tank a couple of years ago. This one is now a year old in my tank, a milestone in keeping such creatures.
He survived some nitrate spikes, and when I first got him, he had the tip of one of his arms looking kinda funky.
I think the over-abundance of live rock, including adding peices occasionally just to add new rock, and overfeeding the tank helped, but most importantly keeping good parameters. I also try and spot feed when I can-when he is in a good position to "trap" food under him.
I also think I got a little lucky with a very hardy star!
