after a little examination in his tank, he noticed that the particles are more crystalline than round, which may cause issues for his nass snails. let me go reread his post
----
sry, it was someone else who said his nass snails didn't like the crystalline structure, but longterm couldnt tell cause his puffer ate them all...
was suggested to him to put the sand down, then put a layer of live sand ontop of it.

Muhahahahah.....snooping.
I just called Pavestone and they had no clue.Hovever they gave me a # for the plant foreman in Missouri. Apparently they have many plants through out the country so i guess the make up of the sand would depend on where it was mined.

vinegar on sand will tell you if it's silica or calcium carbonate based sand. I believe if it bubbles it is calcium carbonate and more ideal for reef tanks.

white is what most would use. i would imagine the sand would bubble in any household acid: any vinegar, lemon juice, lime juice, etc. correct me if i'm wrong.
