I had the same dalema when i switched from NO lighting to pc lighting in my 45g reef. I ended up going with a single 96w smartlite and a 30w actinic bulb. I really like the look. I think if you go with 2-55w lights at first, get 2- 10k or 2-6700 and go with 1-2 NO actinic lights. Than if you decide to get more pc lghting yo can add 2-55w actinics. That way you can put 2-actinics in the back and the daylght bulbs in the front or vice versa. HTH

I have a 50 gal reef (48"X13X18) and currently use PC lighting 4X55. I use two 10,000k bulbs and two true actinic 03 bulbs. Couldn't be happier (unless I had MH that is). I would recomend in a four bulb set up going this way as I have yet to see any 50/50 that are true 03 actinic. They are usually just the old blue 7200k bulbs that gave PC lighting it's bad reputation.
