Hi all,I wanted to put together some sort of cheat sheet that details all the different bulbs available for PC systems.
i know there are more bulbs out there but i was wondering what the pros and cons of each type of bulb were. what each one promotes/inhibits. Which ones are good for corals, coraline, tank color, etc
Help me fill in this chart!!!!

ok i will try...i know the 420 is more purpleish and the 460 is blueish. i am not quite sure but i think the nm blue/purple lights promote coraline growth. as for the 6700k and 10000k i am not sure what the differences are execpt for the spectrum they emit. but what is an ideal spectrum for a reef tank? idk. and what do LPS corals like zoas, mushrooms, candycanes, etc grow better under? is it better to just blast a couple 10000k bulbs on em or do they need that 6700k spectrum also.
this is what i was really trying to get at with this thread. i have 2 double pc bulbs in my tank and am trying to gain some knowledge on the best combination of bulbs for my setup
these are my options:
-10,000k/10,000k
-420nm/460nm
-420nm/10,000k
-460nm/10,000k
-6,700k/10,000k
-460nm/460nm
right now i run 420/460 and 6700/10000. is there any other combination that will help the growth of my corals?
