PC Lighting

I have a 46g bowfront, 0 amon., nitrite, Ph 8.2 and trace of nitrates. Calc. around 400.
I am adding a Custom Sealife PC ABS hood with two 96 watt bulbs.
Can this be placed on top of my glass top without overheating the water? To my knowledge, I do not need to suspend this fixture like many of the halides, etc.
Also, any recommendations on starter corals with the parameters as noted above? Is the PC lighting I choose a good system?
Any help would be appreciated.

I use csl.....2x65 watt smartlite...2x65 watt 10000k britelite on my 55 reef....along with 2x40 watt 03 no.....and 2x15 watt no for moonlight......personally i like 'em just fine......at first the csl's were on the glass....but they now sit in a custom built canopy approx 5 inches above the tank top(with no glass cover)
