pc lights in canopy

quick questions here ,
putting some Pc lights in a 8" high canopy so that would put the lights approx 6" off the water, is this about right?
now if those lights were to get splashed on by water would they explode ? if so what do u to avoid that do u put a plexglass shield around them or something??

anyone one have any insight on this question? there must be lots of people out there who built there own canopies

I have about the same setup, I have not problem with spashing, the problem I did have is the heat, 2-55w, and 1 96w pc on a 40 gal. Had to add two fans to keep it cooler. Good Luck
