PC lights

What is considered a "strong" PC light? I have a 24" Coralife Lunar Aqualight. 1 65w 10k daylight, 1 65w actinic, 2 lunar LEDs. What types of anenome and coral can I get with this type of light?

Is there anyone who can answer this? I'm sure it's a very simple question. Just takes one reply..

I have similar lights too... I stay with hardy corals and make sure I ASK before I buy... YOu can still have many cool corals in your tank...
I did the anenome thing last year... lived for like 3 months and died.. MY FALUT!!
I've thought about upgrading my lighting but under a canopy, I dont think I can have anymore than I have....

What if the anenome is close to the light? I'm wanting to build up the rock anyways so I can have some things closer to the rock that need stronger lighting and the other things down towards the bottom that don't need as strong of a light.

clownfish really don't need anenome's to be happy. I actually had a pair of percs that wouldn't even look twice at my anenome. I would also suggest not getting an anenome. I know they are aluring, but fight the urge. The succes rate is really bad. Their are clownfish in the wild that give up their home, and many times canot survive in the wild without it, just so we can have them die in our tanks. I have the exact same lights as you, over a thirty gallon tank, and mine died. I am speaking from experience and many others will agree anenomes are very hard to keep and frankly we just don't know enough about their captive care needs to keep them alive. With that said, I know that many people have them in their tanks and love them and are succesful, but success is limited.

I really really want to have some anenome for the clownfish...
Then you really really need more lighting. No if and or buts. I have almost 200 watts of pc over a smaller tank and I am glade I will be setting up a larger tank with halides.
but success is limited
And success is limited due to improper lighting and care. There is no reason from my experience as to why anemones have such a low success rate.

gonna need some halides if you are really stuck on anemones.pc light aint gonna cut it.but if you read the posts above, you will see that they are a bad choice.my clowns host up with my xenia.if you get some kinda wavy coral, they will probably head to it.

I agree with trying to find a hardy coral that they can host in. Xenia is a fantastic option. They are in my opinion one of the most rewarding and fun soft corals. They are great for nutrient export and they grow and move like no other.

OK, so other than xenia (which I think I'll definitely be getting), what other types of corals can survive under PC? I also read somewhere that someone was able to keep a condi (anenome) in their tank w/a PC light, so maybe there's a chance I could try one of those.
Oh and I'm guessing clams are out of the question..?

well obviously you aint gonna get away from the anemone.you will learn the hard way i guess.other corals that will do well under pc's are mushrooms and zooanthids.yellow polyps and green star polyps will do ok too.

you may be able to keep a condi under those lights, but most clownfish will not host a condi. I have seen damsels host condi's before, but rarely will you see a clownfish do it. Their are many corals you could keep. Leathers, polyps, shrooms and others.

clams are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of the question.go spend alot of money on halides the first time around.that way you can keep what you want.

Clams need halides. Still want the anemone . You need more lighting. There is no way I can say an anemone will live in your current situation. You do not need metal halides for anemones. VHO is better than pc for anemones, but pcs will still work. I hate using this but it will give you an idea. Right now you only have 3.5 watts per gallon. If you get to the 5 watts per gallon range, then go for it.
