pc=vho

i was talking to someone in a chat room and they top me a 55 watt pc is = to a 110 watt vho rue or alse??? also im looking for lighting for a 29 gallon tank id like to be abl to keep some brains and similar corals i dont want clams or anything like that but a few hard corals like brains and an anenome what do i need to get an round how much it cost also what length do i need to get

Pc are conisdered more intense watt for watt, I serously doublt it is as much as doulbe the intensity. I have 4 110w VHO on my 80 and everything is doing good I added some acropora frags about 3 weeks ago and I can see growth all ready.
 
??? anyone if got 2 55 watt pc for my 29 is there anything i couldnt keep or would istill need mre for the hrader corals see my original post

2x55 pc would be good that would get you just under 4wpg, If you can fit it you might want to get a 3x55 retrofit kit that would have you at almost 6wpg an d you could keep just about anything. Try hellolights or ahsupply for prices just add .com to either name and it should come up

I Have MH, PC and VHO. IMO the VHO out perform the PC in growth and longevity. I only use PC for atinic's these days.
When I help friends get their reef tanks going I always steer them toward the VHO. You just can't seem to go wrong.

I just received my 4 tube vho retro kit and I am custom building my canopy. This is to go over my 29 gallon... Thats 300 watts of lights.... I am so ready..

PCs do put out more intence light per watt, but it's more like 20-25% more light not double. With PCs you can get more light over a given size tank, but VHOs have a little bit better look as far as spectrum. You can keep and grow happy healthy corals under both it usually boils down to which look you personally prefer.
