Did the lionfish come in perfect condition?Did it start eating good? I herd that they are poor shippers.

thinking about actully buying from saltwaterfish this time. My friend purchased a fuzzy from this site and it came dead to him, he sent it back to them and gave him another one, this time it came alive put wouldn't eat anything. Thats my only fear.

Unless you see it eating frozen, don't count on it. I never found getting them to switch from live to frozen that hard though. I've now done it with a fuzzy and a antenneta with no real problems. Just takes a little patience.

i ordered 3 volitans lions from another site, all came in perfect health and already trained on frozen foods! ate silversides the next morning. so getting a good specimen is certainly not unlikely.

Its the best place BY FAR, but is a Canadian store and is unlikely they ship to America, so unless you are near the border and can drive over and pickup. Just making the point that Ive NEVER seen a lion arrive in bad condition or dead. ever.

Oh, and the best way I have found to train lions onto frozen foods, works with ANY lion. Float a bag in the tank with the feeder fish in it, the lion will eventually swim over to investigate, then let him watch it for a while, then scoop out the fish and drop it near the lion in the tank. Pretty soon the lion is snapping it up before it hits the water, and then you start dropping frozen foods in, then pretty soon you can stop floating a bag with a feeder in it and just drop food into the water and it will be eaten readily. Worked for me countless times, although to be honest, its probably a longer process than most people use, but i doubt it has less than 100% success rate and an extra week or two of fresh water fish cant really hurt in the long run Id think.
