peppermint shrimp & Anemone

ok I have had my tank running for about 4-5 months now and everything is great.. I have 2 clowns in my tank, it is a 70G tank with a 30g sump/refugium. so lastnight I was at my LFS and saw a very nice anemone. it had long white arms with pink tips... saw I figured I would try and introduce it to me tank. (First anemone) well when I got home I acclimated it for about 2 hours. then placed it in my tank... well in about 30 second my 5 peppermints where all over it tearing the arms off of it.. I took the anemone out and placed it in another tank until I find out what is going on.
Is this common for the peppermints? If so I guess I should get rid of them.. anyway thanks in advance for all the help.

I have heard of Peppermints being distructive. Are they being directly fed or do you let them scavenge?

I've hear of this happening before as well, my advice was also to feed the bloody shrimp and keep them off of the anemone, if they don't stop then someone has to go. Make the choice.

thanks alot for all the help. I am going to start feeding the peppermints for a few days and then try and reintroduce the anemone, see what happens...
