Ok, I've has a false perc for a few months now and I just got another and I am trying to pair them.. My question is not about pairing however... I never noticed until I began watching the new guy and my old one that my old one has very small pectoral fins they don't even look like fins.... Is this unusual?

No no no, not like finding nemo.... Anyways I hope I called it by the correct name, its the fins on the very bottom.... My original guy has what I can only describe as a small pointer where the new guy has two normal fins like I see in pictures... Anyways I am not worried about it, just curious if this is a normal thing, or perhaps a genetic mutation...

Does it look like there is a black outline surrounding the fin (like the other fins should have)? If so then its probably something it was born with.... if there is no black outline... then something may have picked at that fin.

It is actually all black... good point, it probably isn't from an injury, I am guessing it just never developed..
Anyways on a side note the two, Clownie and McClownie, seem to be pairing of delightfully... Occationally the older one will chase the new one away or act aggressive but they seem to be settling down and swimming with each other... It is so sweet....
Oh, and since finding Nemo was brought up, do you know what Nemo's mom's name was? Everyone knows Nemo, and his dad Marlin but I can't seem to remember his mom's name... Just a useless trivia question I suppose...

I thought Pearl was the name of the octapus... oh well, anyways I just wanted to post a picture of my two clowns togather. You can see in the picture the bottom clownfish has no pectoral fins, wierd......
Oh and please pardon my hair algae, it is a pain to get rid of....
