i have had a true percula in my tank for about a month now. He loves being in my anenome. however i recently purchased another. The guy at the store told me to only introduce 1 more and for it to be slightly larger to avoid him (the new one)getting picked on. They were doing fine for about two days. I woke up this morning and the original clown was laying in the anenome like usual. However, when i came home from work today the original clown is constantly being harrassed. the new one won't even let the original clown go near the anenome. i feel bad for the guy. Does anyone have any advice?

I had this problem with my clowns too. I had to put the agressor in time out [separate tank] for a wk or so, then reintroduce him to tank. By that time, the other clown would be the harasser. Eventually, they started getting along. You might try getting a second anemone.

I've never had any luck with putting two perculas in the same tank. I guess if the tank is bid enough it might work. I tried it in a 125g and had to eventually remove one of the clowns. Good luck.

If you want 2 of the same type of clowns in the same tank it is best to introduce them while they are young.
Also when you do add the second fish there will more then likely be some fighting usualy very aggresive fighting.
The best thing to do is let them fight it out for a couple of days until one establishes dominance over the other one.
The dominate and more then likely larger one will then become the female and the fighting will stop.

You may have two perc's that have already become females. Since they can not switch back to males the larger of the two females will not allow the smaller one anywhere near the anemone. I have a pair of perc's that share an anemone in one of my tanks. I actually purchased them as a pair to make sure I did not have this problem.
The only advice I can give is if they both are females normally they will not live in the same tank, unless it is a very big tank. The larger female may also kill the smaller one.
Hope that helps.....
