Nice sandstorm there wildman, looks like you're off to a good start..
Its going to take a couple days before sand settles down. You might want to set a separate container up with fresh saltwater in it & pull the LR out of DT & add them to container until sand bed becomes stable. If you have a skimmer or filter running shut them off also. But leave power heads running in tank.

The skimmer has nothing to lift & the sand is to heavy. All you are doing is running sand thru the skimmer pump. No need for it running. The best thing for now is for the sand bed to settle down so it can become stablized. This will take at least 3 or 4 days.

Yeah, you can't skim protein when there's no protein to skim.

All that rock is about 3 years old, dunno if that helped clear it up or not. on the Rock I have a few pieces of LR picked out , big chunks that had corals migrate to them, so gunna wait until everything stabalises to put them in. Will see if next time I go to my LFS if they will let me take a picture to post.
