just take a soda bottle cut off the top around the part where it starts to go in to a cylinder shape cut the part right before the cap large enough for the fish to get in and place food in it the fish go in and you just scoop them up and take out the fish that got in didn't want in there.

We ended up catching ours by holding the net still and waiting for the damsel to swim into the area, then scooping him up. Also, if your fish are "trained" like many to swim out when the light first comes on (for feeding, etc.), that would be the ideal time to try this.

nets are ok for a small tank but for larger tank using nets is almost impossible.this method i suggested also limits stress, chasing a fish with a net can stress them out enough to compromise their health i got the idea from pet co they used a small clear box i thought i could recreate this with a bottle.

Confront him with the net like a Matatdor. He may decide to swim right in. I use to love to do that at the stores. Guys would be chasing fish all over then i'd stick it in there like that. lotsa fun to say get in the net just before they do.
