i have a few of these pest anemone like the ones in this thread in my tank.
https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/164041/anemone
when my tank is fully cycled i will be building a reef and hosting some small reef safe fish.
my question is.....why are these things bad (i think they look kinda cool) and what fish eat them to keep them in check. Do i need to get rid of them now or when they get large enough to touch one of my corals in the future? any advice is greatly appreciated.

They SHOULD be removed, they are aiptasia anemones and they are considered a pest anemone because thay can sting and kill fish and corals. They multiply like rabbits,
3 ways to remove them,
naturally with peppermint shrimp, but this is hit or miss
Joes Juice, do a search, then inject with syringe
and Boiling hot water the same way!
Good Luck! p.s i always thought they were kind of attractive as well!

i say joes juice. its cheap ($8 for 20ml and thats more than enough to last you for the rest of your life) and very affective. i killed a few of those nasties in my seahorse tank this past weekend. 2 hours and they were shriveled up and dying. its very safe and can even be used when they're growing in between clusters of zoas and polyps.
keep it away from your display anemones though.
