Okay I went into a local Petland here in Ohio (Boardmen, OH to be exact) and when I went in the dogs were in plexiglass cages and even big dogs like huskys and danes were in the same size cages. Also they have an animal called a sugar glider which is a marsupial and needs to have AT LEAST a cage 36" in height they had it in a gerbil cage! Also sugar gliders require a minimum of 2 hours of attention a day and need to be SLOWLY exposed to strangers (not 100s of new people a day). Also the dogs in the cages are known to be infested with diseases (my Aunt is a vet. at the local veternarian office). And if that's not enough the dogs had bloody feet from the fence like surface they have to live on ALL day. Also the fish area is just as disgusting. They pack swf like fresh water fish (many agressive in a 5 gallon box). And they had a shrimp they didn't know what it was and they went in the back and came back and told me it was a "saron" shrimp and it was $14.99! And the fish tanks are all covered in a slime that has been there for days. And they try to pass of nassarius snails as turbos (which isn't a big deal). I think this is disgusting and it would be even worse if I could see what happens when customers aren't there. I will personally NEVER go in that store again!
