If you remember I have a coral beauty with the cloudy eye. From your posts I have sucessfully got my salinity to 1.009 to try hypo (in a QT). And I knew to check my PH because it drops with the hypo. Well it did, its went from 8.3 to 7.8 over a matter of days, I know I need a buffer, what is recommended? Thanks all for bearing with me, I appreciate it :)

You can use baking soda, or any hobby buffer that you can pick up at the LFS. Baking soda is a lot cheaper.
Increase the pH, slowly. Don't make any rapid changes. Additionally, pH tend to drop at night [after lights are off]. Take your test at a certain time of day every day to measure.

Thanks Beth, If I use the baking soda is there a rule of thumb as to the amount it takes to raise to say a tenth (as in 7.8 to 7.9) or more? Just curious, if you may know.
