:help: just tested my tank and have a ph of around 7.4 and alkalinity of 40-50 KH ppm per what i now know is not the best quick dip test strip reading. I'll be ordering salifert testing gear today but was reading that a ph drop like this can be serious.
I've had the tank set up for around six months and never had a drop in either of these levels before. Nitrite 0, nitrate 0, SG 1.024, ammonia 0, as of today. I use only RO/DI water with Oceanic Salt Mix since i set up. 16 pounds LR, 18 pounds LS. About two weeks ago I changed out the old pump for a maxijet 900, added a Hydor wavemaker, took out the three sponges in the left compartment, put in a bag of ChemiPure and replaced the Phosguard bag. Livestock is two false percula's a couple astrea snails, 1 stomatella varia(hitchhiker). Would appreciate any and all feedback regarding PH and Alk as well as set up etc.
