PH EXTREAMLY DROPPED...help

i have a 12 gal nanocube and im looking at my clown a few min ago and he isnt looking to good so i test the water and my ph is at 7.8 and the other day it was at between 8.2 - 8.4.
i just did a 10 percent waterchange and put some ph balencer in it...anything else i can do for now?
i have a percula, emerald crab, a bunch of liverock, a small frag with a few mushrooms and some starbust polyps.
ph - 7.8
ammonia - 0
trites and trates are fine
salinity - between .023-.024
temp - 77

It will change as the day goes on. If you test when the lights have been running it will be higher and if the lights were off for a while it will read lower.
Have you been testing at the same time each day?
7.8 is not too bad. I'd say it is on the low end.

It is really important to know your alkalinity and calcium. NEVER add a buffer unless you know your alkalinity. Messing with these without knowing values can REALLY mess things up big time, especially in a little tank. 7.8 is not an issue, IMO, but big swings are.
What sort of circulation do you have in your tank? pH shifts can also be caused by poor gas exchange/circulation in the tank.
