5 days ago i did a test, PH was 7.8.
Each morning since I have added 8.3 liquid buffer to the tank. Each night I test and its 8.3. but then by morning its back down to 7.8. Will my ph just like magically stabilize or will i always have to add this stuff.

i dont have a calium test kit, but i do add calcium to to the tank 2x a week as directed by "Reef advantage calcium". I'll pick one up today though. What type of reading should i hope for when I test?

I keep mine around 420 PPM...The best way to keep up the calcium level is to do frequent water changes with quality salt mix....like Reef crystals. Occasionally I add "purple up" and it helps alot with calcium levels and coraline algae growth.

Ok, i was using instant ocean for a while but it always clumps. I recentl switched to oceanic in the blue jug. I have a 30 high, with lots of rock and little livestock. How often should i change the water? Ive been doing 10% 1x a week

I think 10% once a week is fine. Is there anyway you can put a fuge on your tank. Reason being, not only would the macro reduce nitrates, but by having the light on your fuge when the dt lights are off it helps to stablize your ph. Just a thought.

I went that same route with the purple up, but to come find out that the purple up seem to mess up the water chemistry.

It will jack up the water chemistry....I only dosed about half of what it called for and only added it twice a month.
