Hello everyone I just tested my tank and my ph is 8.4 maybe a little higher. Everything else is fine Do I need to worried? I tried searching and didn't come up with any answers
Alot of people run their tank at 8.4, it's fine. Are you using any buffer? If so you should not need it if you stay on top of water changes. Is this a reef or fish only? Also when you checked the PH how long had your lights been on?

I wouldn't be worried about a PH of 8.4 unless it just jumped that high. Consistency is important. If it was testing lower before then we need to look at why.
Fowlr Lights had only been on 4 of the 8 hours on a timer. I had put Marine Buffer in the tank when I started it but haven't put any in since. The PH has been staying at 8.3 so thats why I was a little concerned.
I had done a water change last week so should I add some more of that buffer or just leave it be? And should I be adding that buffer regularly?
Your ph will move a little from day to night but for the most part should stay stable. If you stay on top of water changes you should not need to add buffer. I think you are fine IMO. I have never added buffer.
