pH in Calcium Reactor?

I have a custom made cal.reactor. I am using Re-born Cal. media, I use Apex pH controller. I calibrated the probe with solution 4.0 for low and 7.0 for high, as instructed for calcium reactor probe. My range should be between 7.0 - 6.0. I have it set as follows
If pH > 07.70 Then ON
If pH < 06.80 Then OFF
I made the reactor to recycle with a 18" Co2 depletion stage.
Any comments on the range of the pH controller will be appreciated

Thank you
John

Sounds good to me, but I haven't ever really used a calcium reactor. Maybe Eric B 125 will join the thread and help give you some direction. Just trying to bump this thread to get you some answers.

It's dependent on the media and what its melting point is as well as what's going on in your tank. You have to monitor your pH and alk (and calcium, although not as important) to see what's going on. If your pH in your Ca reactor is too low or too high it will directly effect your pH and alk in your tank, this is the easiest way to see what's going on.
My Ca reactor has a very small range. It's on at 6.7 and off at 6.5. This keeps my dKH in my tank at 9.5 which is where I like it to be and my Ca at about 450ppm. I honestly don't test my Ca that much anymore :-/ just got by what my corals and clam is doing. I have a pretty high demand for alk and Ca in my tank as well and it's a 180 with a 55G fuge and a 40G sump.

Can you tell me how you have your effluent drip set?
When I first installed my Ca reactor, more than a year ago it worked great.
I wasn't paying attention and my magnesium got low, my Ca level was around 360ppm, KH 7 some corals tissue started to deteriorate. Luckily most of the coral recovered after getting my parameters back to normal and some dipping with ReVive.
