pH Level

I have just started cycling my new saltwater tank with 6 damsels. I am having trouble stablizing my pH. I am constantly having to add pH buffer to boost my levels. Any suggestions? I only have an AC100 filter for this tank, it is a 55 gallon tank. I do not have a protein skimmer. :help:

What is your specific gravity? What exactly is your pH? What brand of salt are you using?

My gravity is 1.021, my pH keeps on falling back to 7.8. We are having to add pH buffer at least once a week. The salt that I have is Oceanic Natural Salt Sea Mix. Also I just ordered a Protien Skimmer on ----.

I would not add anything to the tank until it has finished cycling. An unstable cycling tank will fluctuate in the test results. You won't need a skimmer until about a month after the cycle is completed. Just my 2 cents
