pH of 8.4-8.6 unhealthy?

I tested my pH today in my newly setup tank, and in the Tetra test kit it turned up light bluish-blue color, which indicates higher than 8.3 but lower than 8.6. Is this bad or is this still an ideal pH? Thanks.

i have a new fish and its a damsel and its half yellow and half pinkish purple.Does anyone have a clue what it is called?

Is the yellow color from the nose along the top of the back with the bottom part of the body being pinkish and bottom fins have black sripes on them? If so its a yellow-backed damsel (paraglyphidodon melonopus).
