I recently added a calcium reactor to my reef tank and it now seems that the Ph stay at about 7.8 day&night when before it was around 8.0-8.05 with a digital meter. What's the best way to maint. Ph while using a calcium reactor ? I though the reactor would increase the Ph not lower it. I'm I donig something wornd with the setup or do I just need to boost the Ph up to a suitable level

I believe you should boost your PH anyway. I think it is recommended that PH be around 8.2
I see you are new to the board but am not sure if you are new to fishkeeping. I also live in WPB so if you need some info on some decent LFS let me know.

Although I don't have a Calcium reactor now, I am planning to get one some day, and I have read some about them. I believe you might need to adjust the CO2 that you are putting into the system. As you probably know, the CO2 lowers ph. By reducing the amount of CO2, that should raise the ph of the system. There was a good explaination of the way it works in the "sand mail" column in FAMA last month. Try raising the ph of the effluent a little and see if that helps. I believe that it needs to be at about 7.0 to 7.2. The instructions may have called for it to be lower than that. Once you get it set, your levels should be extremely stable.
