ph

This is a complicated question and no one should answer it without providing a lot of details :)
If you are having this issue, first what is your pH, alkalinity and calcium. What additives do you use. What is the pH when lights have been on all day, and when lights have been off all night. Do you have glass tops. What circulation do you have in the tank. What fish load do you have and how old is the tank? What water change schedule are you on? What test kits do you use and how old. If you take to an LFS, what type of container do you use?
Anyone who answers "just add buffer" can be giving very bad information to another hobbyist :( Very complex question as there are several sources of low pH problems.
Including one in particular...trying to meet the fabled "8.2" and worrying because your pH is 8.0 which is not a problem in the slightest.
