Phos-x

I just purchased some Phos-x to get my nitrate issue a little more under control. The question I have is: Do you empty the bags they give you in your filter bags you already have or do you add their bags to your filter in addition to your carbon bags etc. I have a hang on Whisper 60 filter right now. The instructions on the Phos-x box were not very clear. Anyone use this before? Sorry if this is such a stupid question.

I'm not familiar with that particular filter, but when i used it in my 29 I just emptied the bags into the media baskets in my filter. When I used it on my 20, that filter didn't have media baskets, so i just cut the bag in half and tied it off and placed it behind my carbon filter in the water chamber of the filter. Hope this answers your question.

That does help. I think I will have to cut them and tie them as well. I do not have media baskets for my filter. I thought I had one that attached to the side of my protien skimmer (hang on) but I can not seem to find it. I would have done that if I could have found it. Thanks so much!

How did you make out? I wanted to know your success- I also have the Nitrate problem that water changes are not fixing... the Phos-X also says to be careful with invertabrates and corals... do you have these, and did anything happen?
thanks!
