the drs own brand is good and cheap. remember when you run any gfo it will drop your alk hard and fast so if you have coral and especually sps. start with a quarter of the recomended amount and work your way up(fast drop in phosphates can cause problems with coral). have alk booster (not ph) around and test daily.

Trust me Seachem phosguard. Just run you water over it through a canister of sorts and it will nail it down.

I personally use Rowaphos. It won't leach stuff back into your tank like phosguard can. I've never had any issues with SPS corals browning out or otherwise reacting wierd.
Phosguard and many other cheaper phosphate removers are made of aluminum oxide. It has limited binding ability and once loaded will start to leach phosphates back into the tank. Rowaphos is ferrous oxide. It won't leach stuff back into the tank once sautrated.

im just gonna use cheato and other micro algaes
Cheato or macroalgaes will NOT help. They wont HURT but it will not help. If it does anything it will add more phos. Just use RO water and a good salt and you will not have phos.

What do you feed? That can cause high phos too. Had a problem with a pellet food way high in both nitrate and phos.

well I feed Form1Frozen and Micro-Vert to the coral, but my phosphates are at like .5-1 last time I checked which is pretty high...I've been doing RO top off and RO WC sooo I think that will help...I'm pretty sure the reason is when I filled up the tank I didnt know Tap water was bad until I already filled it up yah....

Are you feeding the little square cubes? Are they like jello when you defrost them? If so those are bad. The jell is bad for the tank. Go to the LFS and there shoudl be two types, the square cubes and then a flat baggy. Get the flat baggy. It does not have the jell stuff in it.
