Phosphate reactor Y/N

Thinking about a phosphate reactor, Are they good to have and whats the advantage to having one VS not having one .Also any special brand i should be looking for.My tank is 92 gallon thanks

Well if you have a phosphate problem it's probably the easiest way to use medias like Phosban. You're not just limited to phosphate removing media though, you can use carbon etc.
I have te Phoasban 150 reactor going on my 55. Most of the time I run carbon in it. Works pretty well.

Phosphates come from food and waste. You want to get it as close to 0 as possible. There is only one way to get rid of them and that is to export them out of the system. So how do you do that:
1. water changes.
2. Grow algae. Phosphates cause hair and bubble algae. Those are bad. So grow a good algae...Cheato. It will consume phosphates and nitrates.
3. Phosban works great. But that should be the last thing to try. Natural methods are better.
